Aviation facility flooring
Heavy-duty floor systems engineered for the chemical exposure, extreme loads and strict safety requirements of hangars, MRO facilities and FBOs.
Floors built for the weight and chemical demands of aviation
Aviation facilities combine extreme load requirements with aggressive chemical exposure. Jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, de-icing chemicals and engine oils all contact the floor during normal operations, while concentrated point loads from aircraft jacks, ground support equipment and heavy maintenance tooling push the floor beyond what most industrial coatings are designed to handle.
We install floors across Indianapolis, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio for aircraft hangars, MRO facilities, FBOs and military aviation maintenance facilities. Every hangar floor is specified around the aircraft operating in the space, the ground support equipment used, the chemical exposure profile and the facility's safety marking requirements. Aviation flooring is no place for guesswork, and we do not treat it as one.

What drives flooring decisions in aviation facilities
Extreme load capacity
Floors must handle concentrated point loads from aircraft jacks, heavy ground support equipment and tooling without cracking.
Aviation fluid resistance
Jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, de-icing chemicals and engine oils require verified resistance to aviation-specific fluids.
Safety marking standards
Hangar floors need precise markings for aircraft positioning, equipment zones, pedestrian paths and fire safety.
Slip resistance
Aviation fluids create serious slip hazards for ground crew, so textured surfaces are essential.
Seamless and easy to clean
Seamless hangar floors are faster to clean after fluid spills and eliminate points where contamination collects.
Long service life
Hangar floors are expensive to install and must deliver decades of performance under active operations.
Systems we recommend
The floor systems we specify most often for aviation facilities.

Industrial epoxy
High-build, multi-layer systems for heavy loads, chemical exposure and non-stop operations.
Industrial epoxy details
Warehouse striping
Forklift lanes, walkways and hazard zones laid out right the first time, to OSHA color codes.

Polished concrete
We grind and densify the slab itself, so there is nothing to peel, delaminate or recoat.

Joint & crack repair
Stabilize, fill and grind flush, as a standalone fix or before any coating goes down.

Have a question about your facility? Call (317) 525-1154.
We've used them on three different projects now, and every one has turned out perfect. Top-notch work and a great group of people to work with.
What flooring system is most commonly used in aircraft hangars?
High-build industrial epoxy with a chemical-resistant topcoat is the most widely specified hangar system. It is selected for the aircraft operating in the space, the ground support equipment used and the aviation fluids present. Safety striping is installed as part of the same project.
Can the floor handle the weight of large aircraft during maintenance?
The concrete slab carries the aircraft loads, not the coating. Our job is to specify a coating that handles the concentrated point loads from jacks and maintenance equipment without cracking or delaminating. We assess slab condition and load requirements during our site visit.
How do you handle the safety marking requirements for hangars?
We install aircraft positioning lines, equipment zone markings, pedestrian paths and fire safety markings as part of the flooring project. We work from your facility's marking plan or develop one from your operational layout and applicable standards.
Can flooring be installed in a hangar that is still in active use?
Yes, with careful planning. We work in sections during scheduled downtime or overnight to minimize disruption to flight operations. The plan depends on hangar size, the aircraft schedule and the cure time of the system.
How do you address expansion joints in large hangar floors?
Expansion joints in large slabs cannot be bridged over and must be honored through the coating. We install compatible joint treatments that keep chemical resistance and a clean appearance at the joint while allowing the slab to move.
