Warehouse and distribution flooring

High-performance floor systems built for the forklift traffic, racking loads and operational demands of warehouses and distribution centers.

Floors built for the non-stop demands of distribution

Warehouse and distribution floors take abuse that compounds over time: constant forklift traffic, heavy pallet loads, racking anchor points, dock leveler transitions and the need for clearly marked traffic lanes. Concrete that has not been properly sealed or coated generates dust, deteriorates under wheel traffic and creates maintenance and safety issues that slow operations down.

We install floors and floor markings across Indianapolis, Indiana, Louisville, Kentucky, Illinois and Ohio for warehouses, distribution centers, third-party logistics facilities and cold storage: polished concrete for large-format floors that need a durable, dust-free surface, epoxy where there is chemical exposure, and striping to organize traffic and keep you OSHA compliant. Every project is scoped around how your facility actually runs.

Warehousing & distribution facility floor

What drives flooring decisions in warehousing and distribution

Forklift and heavy traffic tolerance

Warehouse floors endure constant forklift traffic, pallet jack loads and wheel traffic that wears unprotected concrete fast.

Dust-free surface

Unsealed concrete sheds dust that contaminates product, clogs equipment and creates respiratory hazards.

OSHA safety striping

Aisle markings, pedestrian paths, hazard zones and equipment areas must be marked to meet OSHA 1910.22.

Joint and crack stability

Control joints and cracks in large slabs deteriorate under forklift traffic and must be repaired and stabilized.

Low maintenance

Floors must perform with minimal upkeep so facilities teams can focus on operations.

Fast return to service

Operations cannot sustain long shutdowns. Phased installation and fast-cure systems protect throughput.

★★★★★
We have a trucking company shop in Greenwood, Indiana. Alex came out the same day to look and answer our questions, sent pricing and options the next day, and the crew finished a week ahead of schedule. Our new polished concrete floor not only looks fantastic but created a great work environment for our shop employees.

What is the best flooring system for a large distribution center?

Polished concrete is the most practical choice for large-format distribution floors. It eliminates concrete dust, handles constant forklift traffic without peeling, needs minimal maintenance and is more cost-effective long term than coated systems that need periodic recoating.

How do you handle the joint and crack network in a big warehouse slab?

Large slabs have extensive control joint networks that need the right material for the movement present. Working cracks and joints get semi-rigid or flexible filler; dormant cracks get rigid epoxy. We map the entire network before specifying repair materials.

Can you install the floor and do the striping in the same project?

Yes. We typically install the floor system first, let it fully cure, then install the striping layout. Doing both in one project is more efficient and ensures the striping bonds correctly to the new floor.

How wide should warehouse aisles be marked?

OSHA 1910.22 requires aisles to be wide enough for the equipment using them, with a minimum of 3 feet wider than the largest vehicle. We factor in your forklift dimensions and operational flow during layout planning.

How long does a polished concrete floor last in a warehouse?

A properly installed polished concrete floor will last the life of the building with periodic densifier reapplication every few years. Unlike coatings, there is no delamination or peeling and no stripping and recoating.
